Simple Silver Batman

Hola!! I had something a little fancier planned for my next post, but it didn't work out the way I wanted it to... :( So, I just had a little fun and did a simple nail art.

I did a base coat and then used 2 layers of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri 230 Silver Sweep. I really didn't need two coats of this, it was a BEAUTIFUL, opaque, foil-like silver in one coat. I just figured I'd put an extra coat on to see if it boosted the shimmer... it didn't.  So, only one coat was really needed!  I really love this color. the formula is awesome and the application was as smooth as it could be with the brush they give you!

On top of the silver I added one coat of Revlon 370 Smoldering, a duo-chrome from Revlon.  It is pretty sheer, but applies smoothly.  I'm definitely going to try this one on its own soon. I only used one coat because I just wanted a little of the blue-green and purple shift.  This one is super hard to get on my camera, but looks pretty nice in person. The picture is kind of blurry, but because I'm still using my iPhone, this is the only picture that I could get that shows the colors at all.

I had a fun nail art with taping and layering thing planned.  However, I have big ideas that rarely end up looking good, so, I'll have to try that one again from a different approach.  Since this one flopped, I decided to just try some simple art and try out the Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen in black that my friend gave me for Christmas.  I find that the pen is really easy to use with my dominant hand, but when I try it the other way, ugh. It's as if I'm trying to write my name with my left hand and it is just miserable.  The formula isn't the greatest because it actually rubs off without a top coat, but its a cute idea. Here's my little Batman :)

I hope you enjoyed today's simple post!  Hopefully I'll have something a little more intricate for ya next time!
